GIF (acronym for Graphics Interchange Format) is a format for compression of image files and most popular Internet was developed by CompuServe.
The use of GIF is generally associated with the publicity in banners. Its main broadcast today continues to display animated images for Web pages, being the only format supported by many browsers allow this effect.
